About Mr Singh

Mr Jagwant Singh is a fellowship-trained upper limb orthopaedic surgeon dedicated to providing every patient with the highest quality of care using the latest techniques. He specialises in shoulder and elbow surgery, including joint preservation, arthroscopic, joint replacement surgery, sports injuries and upper limb trauma.

A respected author, researcher and teacher, he is passionate about innovation and regularly travels to centres of excellence worldwide to investigate the latest cutting-edge techniques in shoulder and elbow surgery. Mr Singh sees private patients at Princess Grace Hospital, The London Clinic, Spire London East Hospital, and the BMI London Hospitals.

Mr Singh trained on the prestigious North East Thames (Royal London rotation). He went on to refine his skills with fellowships at the world-renowned Wrightington Hospital and Nottingham shoulder and elbow unit. Following this, he spent some time undertaking traveling fellowships at world-leading units in the USA and Europe.

He plays a leading role in research, teaching, and mentoring at the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. He chairs the Healthcare Delivery Committee and is privileged to serve on the Executive Council of thesum European Shoulder and Elbow Society. His election to the Society of American Shoulders and Elbow Surgeons in 2021 and his Honorary Senior Lecturer position at King’s College London further demonstrate his standing in the field.

Mr. Singh’s practice covers all aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery in London, with a particular focus on upper limb sports injuries. His expertise includes treating shoulder pain and stiffness, impingement, rotator cuff and instability surgery, biceps and pectoralis tendinopathy and rupture, shoulder arthritis, nerve compression, elbow arthritis, tennis and golfer’s elbow, thumb arthritis, and upper limb fracture surgery, including complex elbow, wrist fracture dislocations and ligament injuries.

Freeman prize 2013-14
He was awarded the Freeman prize 2013-14 and RLHOTS travelling fellowship in 2017 to the Steadman Clinic & US Olympic Institute, Vail Colorado and Harvard Shoulder Unit (Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston).

John Charnley Gold Medal
After becoming a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2017, Jagwant secured a fellowship at Wrightington Hospital, where he was awarded the John Charnley gold medal in 2018. Here he worked with leading surgeons and gained expertise in the fields of shoulder surgery, complex joint replacement surgery, elbow surgery, nerve and hand surgery. He also worked at the Nottingham Shoulder and Elbow Unit and trained in conducting wide awake shoulder surgery and dealing with shoulder and elbow trauma.

British Shoulder and Elbow Society fellowship
He won the British Shoulder and Elbow Society fellowship in 2018 and, as part of this, gained expertise from renowned North American centres including the Mayo Clinic, Rochester and Rothman’s Institute, Philadelphia.
